In a bid to help women in business, VitiKart, an online retail service based in Fiji owned by Vodafone, held its training with various women in business on digital marketing and ways to market and sell their products.

The initiative, which was organised by Business Assistance Fiji, held training sessions so women can understand the logic and essence of capturing the customer base locally and abroad.

Shimneet Chand, the Product Manager for VitiKart and Digital Services for Vodafone Fiji, says digital marketing will help create and sell their artwork to customers in accordance with their targeted advertisement to customers.

Chand says ever since its establishment in 2020, significant changes have taken place, and they have grown a lot over the years.

He says the aim of this training is to empower the 40 local women entrepreneurs with essential financial skills and knowledge.

Chand emphasised BAF's ongoing commitment to supporting women-led businesses.

Founder and Managing Director of Capital Human, Manita Ray says that they are grateful to the Asian Development Bank for funding this program aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering gender equality.

Chand highlighted to the participants the topic of developing comprehensive budgets, where he taught the participants about the importance of budgets, and provided practical steps for participants to create effective MSME budgets.

He further took the participants through the topic of managing cash flow efficiently, which covered cash flow definitions, forecasting, trends, payment collection, inventory management, financing options, and cash flow challenges, including a hands-on activity for preparing a cash flow statement.
