Virat Kohli played a major role in India’s 4 wickets win over New Zealand as he made a masterful 95 runs in their 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup match in Dharamsala, India this morning.
Kohli hit two sixes and eight fours in another classy match to put India on the brink of victory as they chased down a target of 274 runs.
He tried to complete a century and seal India's victory with a six but was picked out by Glenn Phillips on the boundary.
India is the only unbeaten side left after five matches.
It was a historic match as well as fans celebrated with fireworks after India finally defeated New Zealand in an ICC Competition after 20 long years.
New Zealand will now play Australia at 5pm Saturday while India will take on England at 8.30pm Sunday.
Afghanistan will face Pakistan 8.30 tonight.
India has now taken over the lead on the points table with 10 points followed by New Zealand with 8 points while South Africa is third with 6 points.
