Vinod Patel always had care and concern for the people and devoted his time and energy towards social and charitable work.

National Federation Party Leader and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad highlighted this while offering his condolences to the family and friends after his passing away at the Aspen Lautoka Hospital last night.

Professor Prasad says Patel was always passionate about things that promoted unity, solidarity, democracy and resulted in advancing the livelihood of the people, therefore democracy, truth, justice, care compassion for all and national interest were the fundamental principles of Patel.

The NFP leader says Patel was a member of the National Federation Party since its inception more than 60 years ago in 1963 and was Mayor of Ba for 8 years.

They have conveyed their sincere and deepest condolences to the entire Patel family.

The funeral service for Patel will be held at 11am next Tuesday at Vinod Patel Park in Ba, followed by his cremation at Varoko Crematorium at 1.30pm.
