"Josie, what you did to me was shameful and hurtful"
This was written in a letter by the 19-year-old woman who was sold for sex by Josevata Werelagi also known as Josie.
Werelagi was found guilty of three counts of domestic trafficking in children and one count of aggravated sexual servitude.
The letter was submitted and read out in the Suva High Court in front of Werelagi by state lawyer, Lavenia Bogitini as part of the Victim Impact Statement.
The victim who was 15 years old at the time of the offence addressed Werelagi directly in the letter saying she was happy she was caught by Police.
She further wrote that she was now at peace and was going to church.
The victim also said that she has been supported by her extended family and does not want what she went through to happen to her brothers and sisters.
Between 18th to 22nd July 2015, Werelagi threatened or forced the 15-year-old girl to enter into or remain in sexual servitude.
He also facilitated the transportation of the girl from Nausori to Rewa Street in Suva, with the intent that the girl will be used to provide sexual services.
Justice Goundar will deliver his sentence at 10am tomorrow. Werelagi has been remanded in custody.
