Former and current students, parents and teachers of Veiuto Primary School turned out in numbers this morning to celebrate the school’s Golden Anniversary.
They marched from Suva Grammar School to the Veiuto grounds this morning in jubilant celebration of their school’s 50 years of existence.
The Managing Director of Communications Fiji Limited, William Parkinson who is also a former student and a parent was the chief guest at the anniversary celebrations.
While speaking at the celebrations, Parkinson says Fiji’s education system is unique because of the partnership between the community, parents in particular, teachers and the government.
The celebration was also marked with a soli session and the setting free of balloons with the traditional gold and blue Veiuto colors.
Brumbies Wing, Henry Speight who is also an ex-student was part of the celebration and was delighted to be back at his old school.
Edrine Evens who is also an ex-student attended the function in her old school uniform that she last wore in 1983.
Celebrations will continue tonight and it will also mark the beginning of the week long celebrations of Suva Grammar School’s Emerald anniversary.
