Nippy halfback Terio Veilawa once again was the match-winner for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side after scoring the winning try in overtime to steal a comeback 26-21 win over France in their second pool match at the Perth 7s.
France drew first blood with a converted try in the first minute after a blunder by Fiji but Fiji replied with a converted try to Ponipate Loganimasi to level the score at 7-all.
France scored another two converted tries in the first half to take a comfortable 21-7 lead at the break.
Fiji came back in the second half to score two converted tries and hold the game at 21-all at full-time.
Veilawa followed up a break from Rasaku from inside their own territory to score the winner.
Fiji now has recorded two wins out of two at the Perth 7s so far.
They will take on New Zealand at 5.25pm today in their final pool match. The Men’s cup quarter finals will start at 10.10pm tomorrow, the cup semi finals will kick off at 5.10pm Sunday and the cup final will start at 9.53pm Sunday. Meanwhile, The Fijiana 7s will take on France at 2.22pm tomorrow in their final pool match. The Women’s quarter finals will start at 7.26pm tomorrow, the semi finals will kick off at 4.22pm Sunday, and the final will be held at 9.13pm Sunday.

Fiji had a tough start in their first game against Samoa where they narrowly won 14-7 in which Veilawa also scored the winning try.
The Men’s cup quarter finals will start at 10.10pm tonight, the cup semi finals will kick off at 5.10pm tomorrow and the cup final will start at 9.53pm tomorrow.
