Vehicle with four occupants still submerged in river near Baulevu, Nausori

The Police Special Response Team divers are still making assessments due to strong currents in the Rewa River as the vehicle with four occupants is still submerged in the river in Naduruloulou near Baulevu, Nausori.

The driver of the vehicle whilst proceeding towards Nausori tried to overtake another car when he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road, and went into the river at about 8.20 this morning.

The driver and three passengers are believed to be still inside the submerged vehicle.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says they do not have the registration of the vehicle or the identification of the vehicle occupants as yet.

Police officers are conducting house to house investigations to establish the identities of the people in the vehicle.
