The Nadi Weather Office says people living in Vatoa and Ono-i-Lau should still expect very strong winds as a gale warning remains in force for the two islands.
There is also a strong wind warning in force the land areas in the rest of the Lau group.
A heavy rain warning is also in force for the Southern Lau group.
Tropical Cyclone Mona was located 65 kilometres southeast of Ono-i-Lau at 4 this morning.
Cyclone Mona has wind speeds of 45 to 55 kilometres per hour and gusts up to 80 kilometres per hour.
It is expected to leave the Fiji waters later today into tomorrow.
