The new Nasinu Multipurpose Court that was recently built for the town.

Works to develop the Valelevu ground into an international stadium will begin in a month’s time.

Nasinu Town Council Manager Engineering Planning Mosese Yavalanavanua said they are focusing on improving the Valelevu ground so that they can bring more games and events to Nasinu.

Yavalanavanua said this project will cost them more than $200,000 as they are planning to dig the ground 150mm and fill it up with sand after which they will plant a special grass for the ground.

He added they also have plans to build a pavilion at the Valelevu ground.

Nasinu Town Council CEO Aktar Ali said the pavilion is for the construction of the new sports ground to cater for all sporting games like soccer and rugby.

Ali said they may call this Nasinu Park to draw on the sporting activities that are normally held at National Stadium and Cakobau Park.
