Vaccination for children between the ages of 5 to 11 years will start in Lautoka today while it will start in other areas of the Western Division on Monday.

The Ministry is urging parents living in Lautoka to ensure their children’s Vaccination Consent Cards are signed and sent to their school.

The Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong says they started rolling out the 2nd dose for children last Wednesday, and they will offer opportunities for schools that had missed out on their initial 1st doses.

The Ministry urges the public to get their booster vaccine doses at the vaccination site closest to them.

As of Monday, 163,415 Fijians have received their first booster dose which is 52.3% of the target population.

24,673 people have so far received their second booster dose.
