Farmers and residents of Natawa Village in Vaturu, located in the highlands of Ba, are set to benefit from the recent upgrade of their farm road that was officially commissioned by the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Sakiasi Ditoka
During the commissioning, Ditoka, highlighted that the 4.3km road upgrade was funded through the Ministry's Rural Outer Island (ROI) Development Programme, which is $50,000.
He says the road improvement will enhance livelihoods, boost agricultural productivity, and enable farmers to transport their crops more efficiently to broader markets, significantly reducing travel time to Nadi Town, which is their primary market.
He also encouraged community members to continue their hard work, emphasizing its positive impact on the country's economy.
Previously, villagers relied on the lengthy Nagado-Vaturu Road, but the newly improved farm road reduces travel time to just 30-40 minutes.
