It is something definitely to look forward to and check out as University of Fiji is hosting the II Latin American Film Festival about the start of the revolution in Cuba and colonialism with it’s art exhibition.

Vice Chancellor of UniFiji, Professor Shaista Shameem said during an interview with fijivillage News that they brought in some of the Cuban art and craft and set it up at the art gallery corner of the university.

She says for the university, it is very important to focus on this and their strategic plan is to ensure that it is not just a local university but it also has a global context.

Professor Shameem says this is a first series of films from Latin America and they also have films from Brazil, Portugal and other countries.

Cuba Ambassador in Fiji, Jose Manuel Galego Montano says with this cinematic journey, it will expose them across the vast landscapes and vibrant cultures of a big continent who dream for a better future.

Montano says they have selected 9 films from Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Argentina and Ecuador.

This film festival will end on Friday.
