The University of the South Pacific will soon use solar electricity.
This is after the French Government signed a Financial Convention with USP today to fund the project.
Head of School of Engineering and Physics Dr Atul Raturi said students can use it for lighting, charging laptops, mobile phones and other electrical appliance.
Dr Raturi added this is one of the two projects they are looking at which costs $100,000 and will be completed in a year.
