USP approves four new courses for Pacific TAFE program

The University of the South Pacific has approved four new courses for the Pacific TAFE program that would be rolled out in the next semester of 2017.

USP says students will learn skills such as collection management, cataloguing, research, use digital tools and promote activities to enhance customer service expertise.

USP adds that the courses hopes to raise the level of awareness on resilience and develop technical skills to accurately monitor and access impacts of climate change, identify solutions to reduce these risk and to plan, manage and implement resilience building projects to reduce damages caused by climate change.

These qualification include Certificate III in Resilience (Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction, Certificate IV in Resilience, Diploma in Library and Information Services and Diploma in Early Childhood and Education and Care(Level 5).

Meanwhile Pacific TAFE is working to get this new qualification accredited by the Australian Library and information association.
