People can now enjoy improved access to technology after the U.S. Embassy donated 14 laptops and a storage cabinet to the American Corner at the Suva Carnegie Library.
The U.S. Ambassador to Fiji, Marie Damour, say this donation, paired with high-speed Starlink internet, will enable more interactive learning experiences.
She says the U.S. Embassy is committed to advancing opportunities for education and innovation in Fiji, and the donation of the laptops is just the latest example of this commitment.
The Ambassador also says that the American Corner is more than just a space with impressive technology — it is a place where people can meet and exchange ideas, express their opinions, develop new skills, and make new friends.
She added that the Corner is supported by the U.S. Government and offers free resources to the public, having become a hub for learning and connection in the heart of the city.
Suva City Council’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Tevita Boseiwaqa, expressed his gratitude for the donation from the U.S. Embassy.
He says the greatest freedom in this world is the ability to learn about it, and libraries enriched with technological advancements will support and enable this for countless people.
