Students, teachers and parents of Wailevu East District School were all smiles today after their two newly built classrooms were opened by the US Ambassador to Fiji Judith Cefkin.
More than 130 students who attend Wailevu East District School will benefit from this project.
The total cost of the project is US$226,000.
It was constructed by the engineers from the US Navy Team, Republic of Fiji Military Forces and the Japanese military.
Cefkin highlighted in her address at the opening ceremony this afternoon that these engagements all occur to deepen our friendship and our ability to work together in the face of collective challenges.
She has thanked all the Fijian people for their support and warm welcome to the US Mercy team.
