The United Nations Development Program has come forward to explore ways in which it can assist the Sai Prema Foundation do its work.
Both organisations signed a memorandum of understanding this afternoon.
While speaking at the signing event, the Resident Representative of the UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji, Levan Bouadze said the memorandum of understanding will enable the foundation to further its ongoing programs.
The Sai Prema Foundation currently have 12 projects in operation through which they have been able to serve over 10,000 patients, assist 18,000 children with heart conditions and have served over 100,000 meals for underprivileged kids.
Sai Prema Foundation Director, Sumeet Tappoo says construction on their children’s heart hospital will finish within 30 days.
He says COVID-19 has had an impact on their organisation too as they are unable to import medical equipment for their children’s heart hospital.
Tappoo says they will look at ways on how UNDP can support the foundation.
