Fiji’s progress on addressing HIV/AIDs will be examined by the Under Secretary General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UNAIDS Michel (Mitchel) Sidibé.
Mr Sidibé arrives in the country this afternoon and will meet President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and officials of the UN agencies in Suva.
Also to commemorate International Women’s Day he will meet with Women Living with HIV.
Fiji is classified as a low HIV prevalence country, and in 2009 spent a total of US$2.1 million on its HIV/AIDS response.
