Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua says the United Nations-Certified Instructor Development Course will strengthen peacekeeping and enhance law enforcement capabilities.
Tikoduadua highlighted this during the opening of the course which is to develop a pool of United Nations-certified instructors who can further assist the United Nations in the roll-out of Police job-specific training courses to the member states of the Asia Pacific region.
He further says over several years, the United Nations in collaboration with the government of the United States of America and our dedicated team, has meticulously developed jobs-specific training materials on monitoring, mentoring, and advising community-oriented policing, capacity building, and development.
The Minister says the transformative journey today will embark to equip the necessary skills and knowledge to become certified instructors.
He also says the course will contribute to the overall development and professionalism of law enforcement agencies, enhance regional security and promote peace and stability in our communities.
Tikoduadua encourages people to engage in these sessions, exchange knowledge and experiences and take full ownership of the training opportunity as this will create a more secure and peaceful world for generations to come.
