Wilder’s team threw in the towel in the seventh round.

Tyson Fury has won the World Boxing Council heavyweight championship with a dominating victory over Deontay Wilder.

Wilder’s team threw in the towel in the seventh round.

Fury won every minute of the fight, and even wagged his tongue near the bloody neck of Wilder during the bout.

The Bronze Bomber was pictured bleeding from the ear after the fourth round of the Las Vegas contest.

Fury knocked down Wilder in the third and fifth rounds.

Fury is unbeaten in 30 fights.

This was more than a world title win, it was a statement as Fury has been through days of depression, weight gain and despair that cost him the belts he claimed in 2015.

Fury said “The king has returned,” during an interview in the ring before grabbing the microphone to lead the crowd in singing Don McLean’s “American Pie.”

He says "All praise to Jesus Christ.I want to pay credit to Deontay Wilder.I hit him with a right and he got back, he is a warrior and he will be back  and he will be a champion again."

In the aftermath, Wilder was seen angrily confronting one of his coaches and shouting: "Why'd you do that?"

Wilder who lost the WBC heavyweight title in his first-ever defeat in 44 fights, explained: "My side threw in the towel. I was ready to go out on my shield.

"I had a lot of things going into this fight. The better man won tonight. Even the greatest came back that's just part of it and you just take it for what it is. I make new excuses tonight”

"We'll come back even stronger next time”

“This is what big time boxing is about the best fighting the best.”

The last time Fury and Wilder faced off in December 2018, the bout ended in a controversial draw.

There is a clause in the contract for Fury to fight Wilder again, but will the American want that?

He was absolutely dominated from all apart from the opening 30 seconds of that fight.

That beating that Wilder took could well leave him questioning his future in the sport.

Round Seven: Fury scores early with a left. And now a good jab. Wilder looking a bit clearer, relatively to how done he looked in four and five. Fury lands another left. Fury ducks under a big right. Wilder in the corner. Fury smashes him in the face with a straight right, it's right down the pipe and poor Deontay Wilder just accepts it with his face. He's trapped in the corner and... THE TOWEL IS THROWN IN!

Round six: Fury has Wilder in the corner and he is battering him again. Fury in street fight mode. All credit to Wilder for still being in this, he's had a fearful hammering and he looks nearly done, but he's showing bravery no question about that.

Round five - even round?

Fury has hurt him again right at the start of the round. Another horrible blow. Wilder looks old, he looks tired, he looks like a man who is being repeatedly punched in the face by Tyson Fury.

Deontay Wilder is down again! A body shot puts him on the canvas and he is game as anything to get up from that.

Fury pings him again and only the ropes keeping Deontay Wilder upright here.

Tyson fury has had a point docked.. I don't think he is going to need points here. Wilder looks ready to go.

"When you are getting hit in the kidneys by a 273 pound man, it saps you," says Haye.

Round four - Fury again

Fury is bringing it to Wilder, who has blood in his left ear. Wilder in all sorts of trouble here, Fury is coming for him, he is dominating him and on the front foot. Wilder, to his considerable credit, gets out of the way of a few. Fury hits Wilder on the back of his head and Wilder is down but that is not going to be scored as a knock down.

Wilder looks tired, he is forced to do everything on the back foot. He is a lot heavier than the first fight.

Wilder has held on well in that round, but he's really under huge pressure. Fury looking for the spectacular finish here and maybe he could just play a tiny bit smarter for a round or two. Wilder has just one hope now, and it's the hail mary.

Round three - Fury wins the round - Wilder knocked down

Fury has landed a good right, and then another one a few seconds later. Wilder is not able to land his jab, which in turn means that he cannot tee up the big right. Wilder's bottom lip has swelled up.

Wilder is holding on now... Fury has knocked him down! Left and right!

The boxers wrestle each other... Wilder has got him round the legs and he trips, Fury nearly stumbles as well. Not called a second knockdown. Can Wilder hold on until the end?

Fury has won three out of three

Round two: Fury again but a bit more even

That's better from Wilder. Fury just set himself a little bit there, Wilder finds that right hand and that's not what Fury needs to see. Wilder misses with another big right. Fury certainly aggressive - is he getting over-aggressive? A quieter round... Wilder sets him up with the jab and unloads the massive right but Fury slips that. But here is Fury! He's cracked him with a right and Wilder freezes, he is stunned, he is blinking... but now Wilder lands one of his own. Fury takes it and spins him and as the bell rings, Fury's wrestled him onto the ropes and he's raging.

"Wilder was shook to his boots, the worst possible start," says David Haye.

Round one: Fury on top

Tyson taking up the centre of the ring, he promised to be aggressive. Wilder scores with a nice right as he comes forward, and follows up with the jab shortly after. Tyson tries a right over the top but Wilder blocks it. Here comes Fury: he has caught Wilder with a decent shot there, now the double feint, and that jab has scored as well. Fury the aggressor here by and large, Wilder on the back foot at his 16 stone 7. The crowd getting into this and cheering Fury. Fury is going looking for Wilder, and he is looking for him, and that is a little unruly from Fury.

Fury raises his glove at the end of the round.

That round surely goes to Fury. David Haye: "that is the best I have ever seen Fury fight. He controlled the round and Wilder was in trouble twice. Great round for Fury."

Wilder's amazing outfit
