Two officers from the Nauru Police Force are joining officers in the Fiji Police Force who are attending an Intelligence Course at the Fiji Police Academy.
Their participation is an outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding between Fiji and the Nauru Police Force and also signify’s Fiji's continuous reputation in assisting small island nations.
In opening the course, Commissioner of Police Brigadier‑General, Sitiveni Qiliho stressed to the participants that it is imperative for officers to understand what is required of them as intelligence officers.
He adds that since their work is largely based on information it is also important that they are updated with the new platforms now in use for its dissemination.
Qiliho has also encouraged officers not to take things at face value, to be analytical and to ask questions.
After the Intelligence Course officers will be joining their Fijian comrades who have recently been recruited into the Intelligence Bureau.
