The Legal Aid Commission will open two new offices in Seaqaqa and Keyasi in March.
This has been confirmed by Legal Aid Commission Acting Director Shahin Ali who says that some staff for both the offices have been recruited as well and are undergoing training in other branches.
Ali highlighted that working with various agencies and stakeholders requires time especially when an office is being opened in some of the most remote areas of Fiji.
He also revealed that lawyers for each of the five new branches they will be opening, have been appointed and are already serving the Courts in various jurisdictions.
Ali says preparatory work for offices in Rotuma and Kadavu is progressing well while negotiations are still ongoing to secure an office space for the office in Vunidawa.
