Two fires in Taveuni early this morning

The Fiji Police Force and the National Fire Authority are investigating two fire incidents early this morning on Taveuni.

Police say the first report was a fire at the Office of the Assistant Roko Tui Cakaudrove.

Quick action from firefighters and community members prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

The second fire was at Drekeniwai Settlement where the family managed to escape unharmed but their home was destroyed.

The cause of the fire in both cases is yet to be determined.
