Two Fijians who now reside in Australia have come up with a website that will now make it easier for people to look for jobs in Fiji.
Ashwin Sharma and Rajeev Chandra who are chartered accountants have introduced a website called MyJobsFiji.com as a way of contributing back to Fiji.
Sharma says with the motto of ‘connecting Fijians together’ MyJobsFiji.com is a new website for Fiji that is designed to connect Fijian employers and job seekers.
He adds that with the availability of smart phones people can now apply for jobs across Fiji without needing to print or post their applications at a post office.
The founders say the website allows employers to self advertise vacancies online and it is a way to reach out to people.
They further state that the website has an interactive map using Google maps that pinpoints exact street locations living up to its vision of connecting Fiji and helping job seekers find roles easily.
Sharma says in such a short time almost 2,500 job seekers have already registered themselves receiving daily alerts from 400 employers who regularly post their vacancies.
He adds that their best result so far was a candidate who was selected and hired within 36 hours of the employer placing an advertisement.
The founders say that they want the next worldwide major software company to be made in Fiji.
