Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Ben Gollings says having Jerry Tuwai back in the team is a big boost for them ahead of this weekend’s Hamilton 7s.
He highlighted this after the team arrived into New Zealand ahead of this weekend’s tournament.
Gollings says he had a discussion with Tuwai after the Hong Kong 7s to take a break to create a bit of longevity for Tuwai.
The Coach adds now that Tuwai is back, he is really keen and excited to play again.
He says it’s always good to have the experience and leadership of Tuwai in the team and with the help of some senior players like Waisea Nacuqu, Alasio Naduva and Sevuloni Mocenacagi, he believes he has a balanced and competitive squad.
Gollings further says the team really worked hard during the festive season and are ready to play this weekend.
Fiji will kick-off their Hamilton 7s campaign against France at 8.32am tomorrow, they will then take on Kenya at 12pm, before playing Samoa in their final pool match at 3.06pm tomorrow.
The Men’s cup quarter-finals will start at 9.58am on Sunday, the semi finals will begin at 1.48pm, and the final will be played at 6.56pm Sunday evening.
