Two-time Olympic gold medalist Jerry Tuwai will make his return to the international 7s arena at the Singapore 7s this week.
The former men’s national 7s team captain has not played international 7s since July last year.
The 33-year-old was not available for the back to back Dubai 7s tournament at the end of last year because he was preparing to get married.
Tuwai and former 7s rep Viliame Satala were chosen to be Ben Gollings assistant coaches in February this year.
Tuwai has managed to keep track of his game time by playing for the Barbarians side in local tournaments.
Fiji Airways Men’s national 7s coach Ben Gollings says Tuwai and Waisea Nacuqu will marshal the backline supported by Iowane Raturaciri, Iowane Teba and Kaminieli Rasaku who made their debut in Dubai last year.
Tevita Daugunu will captain the national side to the Singapore 7s where they will meet Ireland in their first match on Saturday at 2.22pm.
They will then face France at 5.06pm Saturday in their second match and play Japan at 8.22pm Saturday in their final pool match.
