Tuvalu's Police Commissioner Luka Falefou today paid a courtesy visit to Fiji’s Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho with discussions focused on revisiting links on police cooperation between the two institutions.

Director International Relations Senior Superintendent of Police Ulaisi Ravula says Falefou was particularly interested in pursuing training opportunities for his officers knowing Fiji's capabilities.

Ravula says the Commissioner himself underwent the police recruit training here at the Academy back in 1989 and knowing first hand Fiji’s capabilities to provide training opportunities he is eager to see how Fiji and Tuvalu can formalize this working partnership.

The Fijian and Tuvalu Foreign Ministries are already having discussions for a Memorandum of Understanding on Police Cooperation between the two institutions.
