Dual Olympic gold medallist Jerry Tuwai has confirmed that he is out of the the Fiji Men's 7s program due to something he did that will benefit the team.
In a Facebook post, Tuwai says the sacrifice he did that day cost him his place in the 7s Program.
He says the Strength and Conditioning coach, Etu Tusitala, is a good man and a great human being but the task that is given to him is more than he can handle.
Tuwai also asks if they, as senior players see something that is taking down their performance then should they keep their mouth shut and let everything go down the drain.
He says he has played with great coaches and management and also extraordinary players and leaders that have stood up for what is right and true.
Tuwai adds for nearly 10 years he has shouldered the call of God and the nation and he has never complained or backed down.
The dual Olympic gold medallist says he has played with injury and pain and never gave up.
He says he does not mind not playing as there will come a time they will take their rest.
Tuwai says nothings lasts forever.
He adds he still cheers at home with all his heart and cries when they lose a game.
Tuwai says the excuse they said for him to prove himself in the local tournaments with nearly a decade of international tournaments and awards and trophies and championships is not enough.
He adds he has played under great leaders and had the honour in leading our warriors into battle.
He says he does not like to talk but he has to defend his honour.
Tuwai adds he is still happy, still cheering and still has Fiji in his heart.
We are trying to speak to Fiji 7s coach Ben Gollings and FRU.
