The Republic of Turkey has lent its support to Fiji’s new Constitution and the progress being made towards holding General Elections in 2014.
Following the accreditation of Fiji’s first Ambassador to Turkey on 14th November, Turkey announced a cash grant of $100,000 towards the costs of running Fiji’s General Elections in 2014.

Turkey has further expressed interest in supporting development projects in Fiji and also the Pacific Islands Development Forum.
