Christians need to open their hearts to the needy during Christmas and also share the love of God with everyone.
This was the Christmas message that Methodist Church of Fiji President, Reverend Semisi Turagavou shared as we are one week away from Christmas.
Reverend Turagavou says Christmas is about embodying the gift of God’s love by sharing and embracing each other as children of God because we are all image of God.
He says Christians must not forget that at the heart of all of this is a child who was born in a poor environment, was persecuted from birth, was raised as a refugee and yet was the word made flesh,’ the ‘Light of the world’.
Reverend Turagavou says people must also not forget the significance of Christmas in their feasting and parties as we should love everyone because Jesus came to this world and died for us.
He hopes that we can exercise throughout this Christmas the act of love, sharing and joy.
Reverend Turagavou also reminded parents and guardians during these busy and difficult times to nurture their children, teach them biblical stories, and the importance of the Christian faith and devote more time to their children.
Christmas is an annual event from the Christian calendar.
