Inoke Tuinamata of Tailevu is calling for answers after he was allegedly assaulted by 7 Police Officers on Monday night at the Nausori Police Station.
He says he was mistakenly accused of something he did not do.
Tuinamata alleges that while waiting to catch a cab at around 10pm, the officers arrived in a Police vehicle and asked him questions, resulting in him being strip searched for drugs.
He says nothing was found on him and the officers then chased him from the scene.
He alleges that they told him that they will be arresting him if they see him in Nausori Town again.
Tuinamata claims that he was later spotted again by the Police officers where they stopped and started assaulting him.
After being assaulted, the 27-year-old alleges he was taken to the Nausori Police Station and was assaulted again and the officers then took $185 from him and his mobile phone.
The officers later dropped him off in Lakena with injuries sustained from the assault and he was told to look for a way home.
He later found a friend and called his sister, who came and took him to the Police Station and reported the matter.
While arriving at the station, the same officers allegedly walked to him and asked for forgiveness, but he told them it was too late because he had lodged a report against them.
Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew has directed the Divisional Police Commander East to provide a brief to his office on the allegations of assault made against their officers.
Chew has also directed Internal Affairs to conduct an investigation.
