The Fiji 7s team has been further boosted in their preparations for the Tokyo Olympics after the arrival of Aminiasi Tuimaba and Vilimoni Botitu in Australia for the Oceania 7s.
Fiji Rugby Union CEO John O’Connor has confirmed that both players are currently in quarantine in Sydney and will be joining the squad next week.
However O’Connor says the two players will have to prove themselves and it is up to coach Gareth Baber to decide whether the duo will be selected for the Olympics.
He has also confirmed that Semi Radradra is expected to join the squad in Tokyo.
The national men’s and women’s teams will be playing New Zealand and Australia twice during the Oceania 7s.
The three-day tournament will mirror the Olympic format.
The Oceania 7s will be played from next Friday to Sunday.
