Tui Vuda�s service to Fiji was influential

The late Tui Vuda and former Head of state Ratu Josefa Iloilo’s service to Fiji has been very influential to the Sikh community.

Those were the words from the Head of the Sikh Community delegation Dalbar Singh as they presented their I-reguregu to the Vanua of Vuda yesterday.

Singh said that Ratu Iloilo has never differentiated any race in Fiji and Ratu Iloilo’s service and commitment has not only been for the Vanua but to the various races in Fiji.

Meanwhile, the Vanua of Vuda also received a delegation from the close families of the late former wife of the late Tui Vuda Vafau Mua from the island of Malharhar, Rotuma led by Dr Tukaha Mua.

Vafau Mua is the only female and commoner to be buried at the chiefly burial ground Naburenivalu at Viseisei , Vuda which was decided by the chiefs of Vuda when she passed away a few years back.

Dr Mua acknowledged the commitment made by the late Tui Vuda to the people of Rotuma.

Also, the delegation from Naitasiri presented their reguregu acknowledging the good leadership qualities the late Tui Vuda has left behind.

The Vanua of Naitasiri is hopeful that Vuda continues with these good leadership qualities and they have given their blessings for the new Tui Vuda that will be installed to continue to carry the flag Ratu iloilo has left behind.

A delegation from the Vanua of Nakelo also presented their reguregu yesterday.
