The President and Tui Macuata, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere and the Speaker of Parliament Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu were paid a customary visit from the Vanua o Bua led by its leader Na Turaga Bale na Tui Bua, Ra Makutu Nagagavoka at the State House.
Ratu Naiqama says they share a common bond with the President and having the event there is the same as having it at home.
Ratu Naiqama emphasized the significance of acknowledging Fiji's chiefs and their connections to the three northern provinces of Cakaudrove, Bua, and Macuata.
He says they have been involved in nation-building ever since Fiji was ceded to Great Britain and have shared close ties until now.
He adds that their initiative to visit the President and Tui Macuata is a noble one.
Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu also acknowledged the people of Bua for visiting them and said that their visit shows their unity and respect for the leadership in their province.
