Tuckers Ice Cream donated $25,000 towards the 2014 Fijiwood Dance Competition which was launched today.

The funds will be used for the preparation of the dance competition and workshops where students from around the country will participate.

The VOU Dance Fiji group is training students from around the Suva area along with some schools in Serua and Tailevu.

Member of the VOU Dance Fiji Tevita Tobeyaweni said they are giving students the basic training so that they can prepare for the competition which will also be held in Lautoka and Levuka.

Film Fiji’s Acting Chairperson Shaenaz Voss said 22 schools are competing in the dance competition this year and the theme is Fijiwood - a fusion of song and dance reflecting the multicultural nature of Fiji.

The Tuckers Ice Cream Fijiwood Dance Competition will be held on the 25th of next month at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
