Tropik Wood Industries Ltd will soon export $6 million worth of woodchips to China.
Board Chair, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere says they explored their China market and succeeded in securing a shipment adding the last time China took a shipment was in 2016.
Ratu Wiliame says during this time of substantial business downturn, Tropik is doing everything to rejuvenate its business for its workers, its landowners and many stakeholders who rely on the Pine Industry.
He adds that while woodchip has taken a major hit both in terms of volume and price, they have not been leaving it to that. Ratu Wiliame says the vessel is currently being loaded the Wairiki facility.
He says they will continue to communicate with their export customers in Japan and China is trying to secure more shipments.
