A flood warning remains in force for the low‑lying areas and areas adjacent to Rakiraki Town and downstream of Rakiraki Station and low lying areas and small streams downstream of Votualevu Station.
A flood alert remains in force for the low lying areas and small streams adjacent to the major rivers for the whole of Fiji and is now in force for the low lying areas and small streams adjacent to Wainibuka River, and downstream of Nayavu Station and Toge Station and downstream of Ba River.
The level at the Votualevu Station at 3pm was 6.79 metres which is 0.79 metres above alert level and increasing, the level at Rakiraki Station at 3pm was 3.33 metres which is 0.83 metres below warning level and decreasing, the level at Nayavu Station is 6.81 metres which is 1.81 metres above warning level and increasing, while the level at Toge Station is 4.8 meters which is above 0.8 meters above alert level and increasing.
A heavy rain warning remains in force for the whole of Fiji.
Tropical Disturbance TD09F [1004hpa] was analysed near
20.8S 179.0E or 240km west of Ono‑i‑Lau or 200km south‑southwest of Matuku at 3pm today.
This weather is expected to continue till mid this week.
The National Disaster Management Office is advising people to practice caution and to restrict movement in flood affected areas as water levels rise in major rivers around the country.
They are urging people living in flood prone and low lying areas to monitor the situation and to prepare for evacuation to higher ground if the water levels continue to rise.
