The trial of former Transport Ministry spokesperson, Sainiana Radrodro who is charged with 11 counts of obtaining a financial advantage by deception will start in the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Radrodro appeared before Magistrate, Makereta Mua this morning.
Radrodro’s new lawyer, Akuila Naco was not present in court today and sent another counsel to represent him.
Magistrate Mua told the court that the hearing had to start today and FICAC senior counsel, Rashmi Aslam was also ready to proceed with his witnesses.
Naco’s legal representative then advised the court that Naco is not available today and if the matter could be adjourned to tomorrow.
It is alleged that between May 2010 and June 2011, Sainiana Radrodro obtained financial advantage by falsely stating that the Minister for Works, Transport and Public Utilities had requested $9,560 on more than 11 separate occasions.
