The trial of Yavala Baravilala who allegedly bit off his defacto partner’s ears during an argument in Sukanaivalu Road, Nabua last January will begin on May 10th.
Baravilala earlier pleaded not guilty to a count each of attempted murder and resisting arrest.
High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar has told Baravilala to write and apply for a lawyer before the trial begins but Baravilala says he is not given adequate time at the remand centre to do the paperwork.
Justice Goundar says he will make an order to the officer in charge to give him time to make an application.
Baravilala and the defacto partner were allegedly drunk during the incident.
The case has been adjourned till April 23rd.
