High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar has vacated the trial date of the pastor of the Agape Healing Church Ministry, Waisake Tulavu who has been charged with rape and sexual assault.
This came about as the practicing licence of Tulavu's lawyer has expired and Tulavu revealed he would be representing himself.
Justice Goundar expressed concern on Tulavu being able to represent himself fairly given the seriousness of the case and there being several complainants.
Justice Goundar said that as a judge it was his responsibility to make sure the trial is fair and advised Tulavu to think about applying for legal aid.
He adds that there is a high possibility the trial may not start on the 21st October as any new lawyer would not be ready for trial.
Tulavu is charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault and he had pleaded not guilty to the charges earlier.
The alleged incidents occurred between 11th May to 15th September last year.
Tulavu allegedly raped two women in his church and sexually assaulted another woman.
He been granted time to engage a new counsel or prepare to represent himself and the case will be called on the 25th of next month for mention.
