A total of 1.6 million tonnes of cane has been crushed so far and 157,963 tonnes of sugar produced.
According to the Fiji Sugar Corporation, the cane crushed this year is around 50,000 tonnes higher compared to the same period for last season.
Meanwhile, burnt cane is an everyday challenge for the Rarawai Mill as it stood at 98% for the Mill.
The Labasa Sugar Mill’s operations was badly disrupted for 43 hours due to the adverse weather conditions and cane was not received at the mill for this period.
Labasa Sugar Mill has now crushed 95% of its total budgeted cane supply.
