24 year old Melania Tora is representing Tents and Awnings as she competes for the title of Miss Hibiscus 2024.
The festival celebrates its 68th anniversary and will be held from August 31st to September 7th at the Suva Civic Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre.
Tora’s diverse interests and dedication to improving mental health services in Fiji make her a compelling and inspiring contestant in this year's competition.
Tora is currently pursuing her master's in psychology at The University of the South Pacific while she previously graduated with distinction, earning her Bachelor of Arts and Psychology degree from Deakin University in Victoria, Australia.
She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts and Psychology from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Tora’s academic achievements and passion for psychology have set her on a path toward becoming a clinical psychologist and open her own rehabilitation centre in Fiji, with a mission to provide free mental health care and support to the country's vulnerable population.
Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Tora enjoys listening to music and podcasts, working out at the gym, and socializing with friends.
