Tonga captain Finau Maka has delivered a message to World Cup officials that he doesn’t want his team’s Sipi Tau performed at the same time as the All Blacks haka on Friday night.
Usual World Cup protocol is that when two teams have ceremonial dances before a Test they are done at the same time.
However, Maka wants to see the All Blacks perform their challenge first at Eden Park and then Tonga have their turn.
On the game itself, Maka said his boys will approach the game with a lot of respect for the All Blacks although many are looking at a very physical showdown on Friday night.
But, All Blacks prop Ben Franks is looking forward to the challenges the Ikale Tahi boys will bring into the game.
The World Cup kicks off this Friday with NZ taking on Tonga at 8.30pm and you can catch the exclusive live radio commentary of the match on Viti FM with Malakai Veisamasama and Ilivasi Tabua.
