Wholesalers and retailers of tobacco products and suki vendors must make an application to be registered or renew their existing registration before the end of next month.
Minister for Health, Jone Usamate says that all tobacco and suki product retailers must ensure that they obtain a registration certificate.
Usamate says that if retailers fail to obtain a registration certificate to sell tobacco products or suki by the 31st of January 2016 they may incur a penalty of up to $5,000 and may be subjected to court proceedings.
The registration certificate can be obtained from the office of the Ministry of Health and all Rural Local Authority or Health Offices.
Meanwhile, a total of 442 smoking‑related offences were recorded till the end of November 2015.
