Former Fijian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea and provisional candidate for the National Federation Party, Romanu Tikotikoca has said this morning that the rape allegation against him is unsubstantiated.
When questioned by Fijivillage, Tikotikoca said that he will have a meeting with the NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad this morning and make a further statement.
However, he said that the allegation is unsubstantiated.
The reported allegation is that Tikotikoca raped a woman in PNG in 2014 while he was Fiji’s High Commissioner there.
It is alleged that no charges were laid and the question also arises on whether he was given diplomatic immunity if there was an allegation.
We have also contacted Fiji and PNG Police about this allegation.
Fijivillage will also speak to the Fijian and PNG Foreign Affairs today about this matter today.
NFP has also confirmed that Professor Biman Prasad will release a statement after the meeting with Tikotikoca.
