Land-force Commander, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga has been appointed Chairman of the newly elected Fiji Rugby Union board.

In a brief interview after the meeting Colonel Tikoitoga said that it is too early to make decisions on certain issues as yet as the only agenda of the meeting today was to elect a Chairman.

Tikoitoga added that sub-committees have been formed within the Board to look into the various departments at the FRU and present their findings when the Board meets next.

The presentations from the findings will direct them in their next step.

The new Board was also briefed by the various department heads and also the CEO, Keni Dakuidreketi.

The sub-committees will also look into the recommendations presented by the Rugby Council at the Annual General Meeting in Sigatoka last weekend.

A point to note is the issue brought up by Suva Chairman, Commander Francis Kean on the review of the FRU Constitution and reviewing the operations at FRU.

The sub-committee will look into these and make recommendations to the board on how best it can be solved.

Colonel Tikoitoga said their next step will be determined from the findings of the sub-committees and this will be discussed in their next Board meeting.
