Three people are now in police custody in relation to the alleged murder of a 46-year-old man at Lokia Landing in Nausori on Sunday morning.

Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Biu Matavou has confirmed that these people are currently being questioned.

Matavou says investigators also recovered the stolen 15hp Yamaha outboard engine last night.

It is alleged that an unknown person brutally assaulted the victim before stealing a 15hp Yamaha outboard engine.

A group of girls who went to get some dalo leaves found the man with visible injuries and he was groaning in pain.

The girls called for help and the man was taken to the Nausori Health Centre where he passed away.
