Thousands of people living in the greater Tamavua area are facing water disruptions because the clarifier at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant has been affected by high levels of turbidity caused by heavy rain.
Turbidity is the amount of cloudiness in the water.
Affected areas include Nailuva, Delainavesi, Togalevu, Namadi Heights, Princes Road, Rewa Street, Sakoca, Khalsa Rd, Tacirua Heights, Dokanaisuva and Colo-i-Suva.
If you live in any of these areas, the Water Authority of Fiji is asking you to store water to last you for at least three days.
Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in case of an emergency by calling 1507.
The Water Authority of Fiji has not given a timeline on when water supply will be restored to the affected areas.
