Thousands of people in Nausori are now affected by flood waters.
These areas include Corbett Avenue, Navuso, Jalim Avenue, Waila feeder road, Withrow road in Dilkusha and other nearby areas.
The advisory councillor for the Naitasiri district, Mahendra Prasad Chaudhry says hundreds of people in these areas are stuck in their houses.
He says the LDS Church in Navuso has been opened as an evacuation centre and people have started moving in.
Four houses have also been affected by flood waters in Lal Singh Road in Waila.

Toga road is also inaccessible as Toga bridge is under flood waters.
Flood waters have entered three houses in Buiduna, Nausori.
Buiduna road, Vuci south road and Naduru road are also affected by flood waters.
Some families living in Baulevu Nasi in Muaniweni have moved to Shantiniketan School as flood waters have started to rise in their area.
A resident Hirdesh Prasad told Fijivillage that flood waters have entered some houses.
Parts of the area have about 4 feet of flood waters.
Meanwhile Buabua bridge in Lautoka under two feet of flood waters.
District Advisory Officer, Anand Kumar says a big tree has fallen and is blocking the flow of the water.
He adds an electric post has also fallen near Buabua reservoir and is blocking the road.
Meanwhile, Naqali village in Naitasiri is flooded.
Our reporter on the ground Mala Qaqacava said Naqali bridge is also under water.
A total of 44 homes have been destroyed in six villages in Naitasiri.
These villages are Natirumai, Savurua, Nasama, Navulokani, Korovou and Waisa.
