Good news for the residents of Vuo community in Labasa as they will soon have a medical centre close to them after the groundbreaking ceremony for Vuo Health Centre was done by the Minister for Health Dr Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu and the Tui Labasa Ratu Jone Qomate.

While officiating the ceremony, Dr Lalabalavu acknowledged the community in Vuo for their crucial role in funding and supporting the project.

Doctor Lalabalavu says thousands of Fijians in the community will benefit from this project as they will have access to better health facilities.

He says the project is led by Tui Labasa, Ratu Jone Qomate, and business entrepreneur Jitendra Chand, and their contributions have been instrumental.

He further says this reflects Chand’s unwavering dedication to his community, of establishing a health centre in his hometown, despite his residence in Australia.

The Minister adds they have a challenge completing the project promptly and will see how best they can deliver it for the community of Vuo.
